The pink building in the picture locates at 26 Bangabandhu Avenue, Gulistan, Dhaka. Renowned playwright Mamunur Rashid had his office in the second floor of the same building. Infact, the office was owned by one of his close relatives, and Mamunur Rashid, in that capacity, used to use one of the tiny spaces as his office. Many drama personalities visited this office at that time to attend meetings on different occasions. The office had witnessed creation of a number of historic plays by Mamunur Rashid. His theater group Aranyak Natyadal initially operated from this location. It was also the hub of activities of Bangladesh Group Theater Federation when he worked as its Chairman. Bangladesh Muktanatak Dal used the location too as its operative office for quite a while. From 1985 until 1989, at its commencing phase, Bangladesh Theater Archives shared the venue with Mamunur Rashid’s careful tending.

It was Liaquat Ali Lucky, then Cultural Secretary, Dhaka University Central Students Union, who invited this organization to arrange a theater poster exhibition on the occasion of observance of University Day 1988. That was the first ever theater poster exhibition in Bangladesh. The exhibition was titled World Drama, which was inaugurated by then Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Mannan, and beyond doubt it created a history.
A Historical LETTER of Acknoledgemant and appreciation.
