When Babul Biswas went to meet famous playwright Utpal Dutt in 1985 at his residence in Kolkata along with Mamunur Rashid, the thespian drama talent motivated him to collect theater posters for their archival importance. This incident incentivized Babul Biswas a lot and upon returning to Bangladesh he actively engaged in collecting theater posters, which in turn also enthused him amassing other relevant ancillary information and materials related to theater, such as souvenirs, handbills, entry tickets, photographs etc. The collection has turned into a huge theater treasure and become a pragmatic operational network in the name and style of Bangladesh Theater Archives. Needless to say, the endeavor has proved to be a historic event.
